I have searched and can't seem to find this answer. Please direct me if it is here.

I am looking for KCR owners, as we are considering a purchase. We go for 2 weeks most years. I understand that some TS allow you to buy additional days to attach to your stay, usually discounted. Is this the case at KCR? If so, what is the usual rate?

Currently, we have been renting through the Shell website. We come at Ironman time and I usually book about 11 months in advance. When renting directly through Shell, you don't pay the a/c fee. It is included in the rate. The rate this year w/taxes is about $10 more per night than the annual maintenance fee. BUT, if we could get the 2nd week discounted, a purchase of a week may make sense.

As to other questions that I have seen here which I can address for you . . .

Phase I units are larger, but the decor is more dated. They are at the top of the complex, and we like them more.

Phase II is smaller (but still very roomy). They are starting to show more wear (even though they are newer), with the cabinet finish thinning, appliances dingy (but they seem to be replacing).

Views vary a lot. There is a golf course between the resort and the coast. We have rarely had a great ocean view.

We love the complex (which is why we are considering a purchase). Staff is wonderful. We shop at Costco, eat out every other night, and BBQ on the other nights. Pools are nice. We are here at the moment!

If you are interested in shell points you can pick them up on ebay right now for next to nothing usually with closing included and often free use as well. Just make sure they are Hawaii club to book at 12 months. Also if you buy multiple small point packages they can be combined. Just make sure they are the same club to keep fees down
