Homeless, on the road
Just wondering how people get from Marriott Ko Olina over to Aulani other than walking. Is there a shuttle, taxi, bus? We will be without car and thinking it will be hot and miserable to walk to the character breakfast at the Aulani.

My off hand answer is that it is never so hot nor miserable in Hawaii for the short walk from Ko Olina to Aulani. You must be used to staying at resorts in the Southeastern US šŸ˜€.

The paved path along the Ko Olina coast is filled with people walking between the various resorts from the Four Seasons down to the tip of the beach park.

The walk is just over a half mile. One of the most beautiful mile round trips. No shuttle necessary unless one needs special accommodations.

We walked along the road and on the path along the oceanfront (gotta have those Dole Whips.) The path along the road was pretty shady but the oceanfront path is simply lovely so we just started using that path exclusively.

I would add that if you are used to warm weather you might actually want to wear a light jacket or cardigan on the way to the breakfast.

You certainly should pack one for early mornings and/or Diamond Head.

Unless you have some physical limitations, walking that short distance in the morning when temperatures are in the 70's, should not be an issue.

Wondering about OP's question too--with a spin. Does anyone know of the bike rentals from the resorts or from nearby retailers and if Ko Olina or Aulani have bike rack's outside and if there's a path to use between the resorts. Or would it be too much of a roundabout way?

Not really (and we’ve stayed at both the MVC and Aulani). But I can’t remember anyone biking the path along the man made lagoons…the distances are just too short.

It is a very easy and lovely walk between these two resorts.

There is a free shuttle to take you to various locations, Monkey Pod shopping area, Aulani, Four Seasons etc in the Ko Olina area.

When we were at Ko Olina in September 2023, the intra-resort shuttle had been discontinued. There was a shuttle to the shopping mall in Kapolei. Its sign made it clear that the mall shuttle could not be used as an intra-resort shuttle.

"The Ko Olina Resort intra-resort shuttle service has been discontinued. This shuttle will not stop at any locations on the Ko Olina Resort."

Does anyone have more recent news about the status of the intra-resort shuttle?

i, for one, am glad the bikers stay on the streets and off the walking paths.

NO resort shuttle since covid as of today. Has not restarted or my uneducated guess is resort shuttle is a thing of the past.

We were at Ko Olina towards the end of COVID shutdown when restaurants were opened but we had to write down our contact information, the Ko Olina shuttles were running.
