Well, I have my annual girls' trip coming up and this year we are going to Ko Olina. Thank you to all the Tugger's who helped secure the second 2BR unit we needed and were on the lookout for a third (which for a few days I didn't need but then ended up needing again - and I actually scored it on Monday afternoon by chance).

Anyway, I now have three 2BR units (2 oceanview and 1 mountain view) so we're set. I'd like to get them all in the same building and hopefully on the same floor close together. I know I'm probably shooting for the stars and am just lucky to have so many units. But, I'm hoping that someone here might have a good "contact" at Ko Olina that might help me make that happen.

Hubby and I were there a few weeks ago and I asked them to coordinate the two units that we had at that time and the young man at the front desk did make a notation. I called today to ask that the third unit be "hooked up" to the other two and they made a notation of that but said they couldn't promise anything. Of course, I know they can't promise but I'm hoping that there might be an actual contact name that I could call to help try to facilitate my request. Does anyone know someone there they have used before to help facilitate their request?

I was thinking of sending a fax as well. Do you think that would help?

Thanks to all!

Jan,

Do you have platinum or gold status with Marriott? That seems to help.

I requested that 2 units be in the same building/close together last March and they put both in the Nai'a tower, same floor, directly across from each other. One was a 2 bedroom mountain view non-lockoff and the other was a 3 bedroom ocean view.

I did just what you have done, called ahead to make the request. I don't have a contact or name of someone to help you.

Good luck! Have a great time at Ko'Olina!

LAX Mom,

Yes, I am platinum with Marriott so am hoping that somewhat plays into it. I'm not sure it will because when my husband and I were there just a few weeks ago on a Getaway that was supposed to be oceanview unit, they tried to put us in a mountainview unit. For the first time ever for a timeshare, I had actually printed my reservation confirmation from Marriott.com and had it with me. So, I pulled it out and said, "Hmmm...our view is supposed to be oceanview." The girl at the front desk took the paper from me, took a look, and disappeared into the back office for awhile. When she came back she said they would move me. We ended up on the 4th floor of the Hale Moana building which had a nice view of the ocean.

Now mind you, if I had been on a trade I probably wouldn't have said a thing about the difference in view category. But, since we had actually gotten the week as a Getaway where we had to actually pay for the week I thought it couldn't hurt. I wasn't nasty about the view change - I just asked her about it.

I plan to print out my 3 confirmations from Marriott.com this time around as well. We'll see if that combined with my request and platinum status will help. If not, that's ok, too. If they can just get us in the same building that would be nice. :D
