I understand Kings Land sold NY as a fixed week, but I believe platinum owners should be able to float into that if any owners cancel. I was wondering if anyone has tried that and what their success rate has been.

I'm in the market for an HGVC and will probably just buy more vegas points. But if I could get Kings Land week 52 even 1 out of 4 years that would probably be worth paying the higher mf on a deed there.

If you are willing to keep checking every day you might catch an owner cancellation. Allegedly MAX owner can put in requests that might catch it before you.

Having a deed there won't help because you would need a club season booking at 9 months or less when everyone with points can book, unless the event week owners cancel very early.

What is so special about New Year in Hawaii? King's Land is remote from any celebrations AFAIK. They tried to sell me one at a premium once, I just laughed it off.

I don't think there's anything special about going then, it's just a time when everyone in my family can reliably go.

Now, NY on Oahu is a different story. BUT, it's been getting tamer since the tragedy.

This year seems easy to book, I just checked...This should give you an idea how many points you need.

That BP2 unit is a good deal, phase 2 slightly smaller that the original units (2BX). A plus unit on 2nd or some on 3rd floor.

I didn't even think to look as I just assumed they'd all be gone now, thanks! Surprising to me that the smaller unit is still available, that's a deal for those dates. I considerably prefer the larger units at KL but the difference of ~10k hgvc is a lot.

We're going to Mexico this new years already anyway so can't take advantage of that. I'm not in a hurry so I'll definitely watch more closely. I'd be especially likely to buy a 2br plus (large size) or ideally a 3br and try and book that as a home week for week 52. I don't think those units would be that expensive and aren't terrible points generators for non-KL years.

Definitely still interested in any experiences booking week 51/52 as a home week.

I own large 2BR+ Kingsland EOY (odd--so 2027) and am offering it for sale. I'm getting some interest in it (I'm about to ask a question on a forum as to how I should answer a question from an interested party; ALSO, I have someone who wants to rent it in September 2027. In the past, I've rented it out through Red Week (I believe it was Dec 26 or 27 through January 3-4). Now I've switched to TUG for ads. {Please no ads}

So you have been able to book check-in of Dec 26/27 in the past as a home week? The large 2BR+ is probably my second choice unit (after the phase 1 3br) because of the ground floor units in building 1-6 being that designation.

You own a platinum week. You can only rent out a home week. September is gold. You cant rent it out in gold season.
