King's Creek Plantation-Owners renting your units

I had a question for any owners at King's Creek Plantation. I'm thinking of renting my two Cottages I own at KCP. I've done so on my own in the past with mixed results. Years ago, I rented through the resort, the last time ended up being a complete fiasco (too long to get in to here). Despite that and to combat my ever increasing maintenance fees, I thought I'd try renting again through the resort. I was told they now recommended two third party companies for owners to use when renting. They are: 1)Endless Resort Options, which charges a $99 fee but owners get all rental income and 2) Kees Vacations, which has owners getting 70% of rental income. At least that's my understanding as things were explained to me when I called owner services.

Does anyone have any experience renting their units through these companies? Any suggestions? Would I book my week first before turning it over to them? Anything else I should be considering?

TIA

We own at Kings' Creek, but we haven't rented our week out. I remember the fiasco when the rental company they were using (or was it them?) disappeared with everyone's money. Terrible!

I guess my questions would be--what happens if the week does not get rented? What happens in the event of (for example) a pandemic, what happens if the renter cancels, what kind of insurance do they have in case of damage to the unit?

The place you choose should be able to tell you how they want you to handle the booking, but I expect they will want you to make the reservation. Please let me know how it goes!

Question...have you looked into using Tug Marketplace and/or Redweek. I frequently rent from Redweek. I am no longer a timeshare owner. I have found that I can rent cheaper than paying MFees every year. However, I am looking into becoming an owner again since I am on the verge of retirement. I can get more use of timesharing and by joining a trade company(RCI or Interval International) I will be able to take advantage of their "getaway vacations" they offer at discount prices. I am looking at possibly buying a 4 bedroom unit at Massanutten to use to trade into RCI as 2-2bedroom units per year.

Anyway, I recommend you look here on TUG Marketplace to see what type of demand/success people have with renting KCP. Then take a look at Redweek to see what they require. I know Redweek is a reputable company to use when looking to rent a timeshare from an owner. But I don't know what their reputation is if you are an owner that advertises a rental. I will keep an eye on this thread to see how it goes for you. Good Luck.

I also own there but have never rented, I have always deposited with either RCI or II.
If you deposit a prime week, it has very good TP with II and the RCI TPUs are decent.

As TamaraQT staid, redweek and TUG marketplace are a good place to start.
