Our respect and condolences on the passing of a former Canadian ambassador who risked his life and orchestrated the 'Canadian Caper' during the 1979 Iranian Revolution by sheltering and saving 6 Americans.

Thanks for our neighbors to the north for doing the right thing ... in the moment it had to be done ... thousands of miles from any support.

Courageous decision he made in a difficult time.

The film 'Argo' relegated Ken Taylor to a supporting role when it was he and his staff who were instrumental in getting the American embassy staff to safety. Nevertheless the movie is great entertainment and well worth viewing. But the closing scene with Iranian military speeding down the runway shooting at the plane as it takes off never happened. In fact, they just quietly boarded and the flight left with no intervention from the Iranians. Ken Taylor was a genuine hero!
