Does anyone know when KBC will be rebranded as Hilton? Has anyone visited there recently and have any reports? I know people had reported they were painting the exterior. Any updates on whether the rooms are also being updated?
I’m here more and don’t tally sees any difference at all. Still nice but, could use some upgrade. I really wish they would get rid of the pink paint. Pool chairs and bar really looking tired.
Thanks for the udpate, Tjalb. I was really hoping that being acquired by Hilton would mean they would put more money into upgrading their Hawaii properties, but I guess it's not going to hapen.
We were there in February. One thing that has changed is that the bar doesn't serve food anymore. You can get takeout from the snack bar and carry it over to the bar, but then you have to wait around until they call your order. We do like the The Beach Club restaurant that's next door at the Aston Kaanapali Shores. There's also a variety of food trucks in front of the property. Those may have appeared in the past couple of years.

That’s one thing I wish HGVC resorts had were good restaurants on property. Not many, if any have anything more than a snack bar/pizza. Some places it doesn’t matter as they are connected to larger areas (Elara) but it would be nice to have a restaurant onsite. Looks like they are doing that with HVC now, too.

The food trucks have been there longer than that. Early on, there were as many as 12 trucks. In the past 2-3 years, this has dropped to 8 food trucks at our last counting. The food is quite good, and significantly less costly than at most Maui restaurants.
