We have an II exchange for Marriott Kaua'i Beach club in December (week 51). I understand that it will probably be rainy but hopefully not all the time. We want to add few days either before or after using SO. At Westin Princeville it will probably rain even more but I like the fact that the units are more spacious than at SKR and the 1 bdr has a full kitchen. I also understand that part of the island is beautiful. What is our best bet? Is it even worth going to Kaua'i in December from the East coast? Any other suggestions? Thank you!

Your weather will be what it is. North shore receives more rain than the south. Also to take in to consideration is the Sheraton Kaua'i is on a beach (even though the villas are across the road from the beach) whereas Westin Princeville is on more of a cliff. We love Princeville but we're OK with lounging at the pool as long as we have great views of the ocean and The Westin Princeville fits that requirement.

We just spent 5 nights in Ka'anapali at Nanea and then 3 nights in Poipu at the Sheraton last month, Dec 1-9. We were pleasantly surprised. We really enjoyed the Sheroton property. Walking across the street was no big deal. The hotel pool is right above a beautiful beach. The units are teeny weenie for sure but you wont be in them except to sleep anyway! There are a few places to eat withing walking distance. I would suggest starying there and maybe visiting the North shore while you are at the other property for a day when you see that the weather is cooperative.

one problem with Sheraton that I overlooked before, I will need a 2 bdr instead of one, it seems that the 1 bdr is just for 2 adults. Does anyone know if they would allow in a 1 bdr 2 adults and 2 kids 4 and 6.5?
