I received a note from Kauai Lagoons about my upcoming stay that there is construction next to the property and there may be some daytime noise.

Anybody know where the construction is occurring?

Thanks!

I was there last week, through Sunday. We saw no new construction, heard no noise and saw no evidence of anything about to start up. The abandoned project (a 2-story concrete skeleton) was in foreground view from the lanai, as many previous posters have noted. Feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions about restaurants, tours, KBC, weather, getting around the island, building views, etc. It's a wonderful resort and a beautiful island. Hated to leave but real life beckoned.

Thanks, Davecanputt! This will be our third stay at KL and many times on the island.

Having said that, I am always interested in hearing other's favorites, especially restaurants and tours so if you feel like jotting down a few, I am all ears!

I played golf there on Momday (staying at Waiohai)...course and clubhouse are in exellent shape? The is work being done on the two story structure which was previously deserted...area is fenced off from the course and the noise was minimal.

The sales brochure for the new development shows impressive structures and amenities....new restaurants, lagoon transportation (again!), continued golf course improvements.

No idea what the price points will be....avoided the sales people!,

I'm at Lagoons right now. There was minimal work being done on the new resort. Never heard any noise and only saw a few workers all week.
This place, as you know, is great. Our condo far exceeded my expectations.
It's quiet and relaxing. The nearby Marriott Beach Club, in contrast, is very busy.

We've had a great two weeks here. Really enjoyed the capt Andy's tours, the blue Hawaiian helo tour and the hikes. Went out to the park by the Makaha ridge radar station and took a great hike out to the end of the finger. Always enjoy the hikes down the memorial trail on the maha'ulepu beaches..... Great times.

Concur with the other responses. We were staying at the Marriott Kauai Beach Club (which we did not find that busy except by comparison to the Lagoon's) but went for walks to Lagoons and the construction work is very distant and we heard no noise at all.

And second Captain Andy's. We did a morning trip on the Northern Star and just loved it. Worth every penny. Fabulous staff and quality.

Kauai Lagoons renamed?

Is Kauai Lagoons still part of the Marriott resorts? Or has been incorporated into the new development that is going up around it? I was there last week and looked for the Lagoons, but saw that there was a new name associated with the buildings, Hokuala. Are the Lagoon buildings going to continue to be part of Marriott Vacation Club or are they to be part of the new resort?

The Kauai Lagoons timeshares are still part of Marriott Vacation Club, however the surrounding property was sold to someone who is continuing the long stalled development. Perhaps the name of the broader development is Hokuala.

But you can definitely still book reservations at Kauai Lagoons.

Best,

Greg

If you look for the name Kalanipu'u, then you have found the MVCI property. They don't call the property Kauai Lagoons anywhere on the property.
