Here’s a picture of the bridge after the storm on Christmas.

I wonder how much damage there is without the tree?

i don’t know but I also saw some pictures of the flooding there and there was a car pretty much under water. Sounds like Koloa flooded again also.

I'd heard Mt. Waialeale got something like 20 inches of rain in 24 hours. I know it's the rainiest spot on Earth, but Sheesh!

I feel so bad for the residents of Kauai, hopefully this flooding damage and cleanup won't be as bad as last year.

For the first few years after we were married, we lived in the San Bernardino Mountains, near Lake Arrowhead. Our house was just over the rim, between the rim and Blue Jay. The last September we were there, the remnants of a tropical storm off Baja drifted north, into the LA area and stalled when it hit the San Bernardino and San Gabriel Mountains.

The rain gauge at the fire station in Blue Jay recorded 16-inches of rain in 24 hours. It was pretty much one entire day of continuous, pelting downpour. The state highway ran between our house and the creek in the bottom of the canyon. We were glad to be on the other site of the highway from the creek, and not in a house that was built on a hillside.
