I don't know if you could call it a recreational trail, but my favorite costal path is the Maha'ulepu Heritage Trail.

Ke Ala Hele Makalae is very popular because it is paved and you can rent bikes along the path. We love sitting on the lanai and people watch at the Pono Kai. The path goes right in front of the oceanfront units and there are always people walking, running, jogging, rollerblading, skateboarding and biking on the path.

It sure has my vote. I’ve biked or walked it many times over the years and love how it’s grown. There are many great Mai Tais along the way to try as well!
