Sorry if this has been answered, but unable to find this piece of information! Just traded into a 1BDRM through II for February 2016 with confirmation code HZZBQ.

I understand some (?) of this resort 1 BDRMs are converted hotel rooms with very limited kitchens, murphy beds etc. My question is whether that is ALL the 1 BDRM units or whether there is also a section that is NOT converted hotel rooms, but regular units with kitchens etc. And if so, how to get one of those :D !? [We actually don't care much for eating out in Hawaii and cook and grill almost all of our meals, so the limited kitchens will be really inconvenient for us.]

They are all converted hotel rooms with kitchenettes.

It's the Maui resort that has new, purpose built timeshare/condo units.

If it's any consolation, HZZBQ is the code for a dedicated 1BR oceanfront at KBC. You generally get the room type that's on the II confirmation.

Thanks all. It will be fine. The resort sounds lovely and we will adapt to the kitchen (which actually looks better than I thought). And it certainly simplifies trying to maneuver for a different kind of unit :). And thanks PamMo. I couldn't find my copy of the room code translations - oceanfront sounds good to me!!

Actually, I dropped the explanation in the top of my post too...
The unit code is ZZBQ (drop the H).

Most of the II codes (or many) are posted here:

The only issue with 1 BR OF is the bedroom doesn't have a balcony. It's more like a ledge. It still has a sliding door though that you can open and listen to the ocean at night. I don't really think it's much of an issue since you still get a balcony off the parlor. I think you will really enjoy KBC. My husband and I just returned from there, and we only had a studio (and we've never stayed in anything to smaller than a 2BR) and it was fine for just the 2 of us. We only ate breakfast and lunch in our room. If we wanted to cook dinner, there were plenty of gas grills available.
