Kailua-Kona vs. Kahaluu-Keauhou on Big Island

If you're going to be driving around, then probably not. The Kailua-Kona town area will have easier access to shopping. The Kahaluu-Keauhou area is more residential, and has better snorkeling. If you're heading to the southern end of the island, then Kahaluu-Keauhou is better. But if heading north, then Kailua-Kona area is better. Again, with a car, it's not big deal.
