Has anyone been to Kahana Falls recently. Is it as bad as some of the reviews say. We will not be there much we will be exploring Paradise :whoopie: but I do want it clean and maintained. TIA

I was there a few years ago. They were renovating at that time. It's an OK place. It's got the basics. If you want luxurious accommodations, this isn't the place, but if all you want is a decent place to sleep and eat breakfast (what we did there), it's fine.

We own there, so I'm biased, but it's a good place, clean, and a great location. It doesn't suit many here because they have to have certain things served on a silver platter, and it gets bad reviews because you have to walk an extra 50 feet to get to the beach, and it doesn't have the name recognition that the high rollers have. It's Hawaii, and that's what matters for us.

I agree that Kahana Falls is OK and is clean. We stayed there a little over a year ago, and while not a five star location, it was clean and the staff was good. After all, its Maui and you won't be spending a lot of time in the unit. Nice beach across the street and I like the location, a few miles away from the rat race. Great Mai Tai's and food across the street at Sands of Kahana.

I agree wholeheartedly with this. TUGgers are a difficult bunch. Yep, we are very difficult. Maui is hard to get with RCI, and if you have a date you are considering at Kahana Falls, you should definitely not hesitate.

It's not a fancy place, but if it came available for the dates we need in March for exchange, I would take it in a heartbeat. I have seen it, it's really nice, and the grounds are beautiful. I had a guest stay there for a week that we were supposed to use two years ago (got a week next door for us). He raved about the place and bought a week from the resort's deadbeat list. I wish he would have asked us first. He paid quite a bit for it.

We ended up buying at Kahana Villa across the parking lot, because we were staying at KVV at the same time Ted and Rose were staying at Kahana Falls. We liked KVV more. But now we bought at Sands of Kahana and are giving away our KVV.

If you think the resort reviews are bad on KF, you should read the ones at KVV. Much worse, but I love it, still do, and I would be using that week, if we didn't buy Sands of Kahana for something much less than the transfer fee.:D

We were there a few years back and it was fine. The only thing that annoyed me at that time was we didn't have a dishwasher. We were on the first floor and while we normally wouldn't like that, it was nice to simply go out the sliding patio doors to the pool area.

We'd take it again if we were wanting to go to that area of Maui. Personally I think we'd probably try to stay down in the Kihei area next time - a little less busy but that's just us.

We stayed there a few years ago. I would go back in a heartbeat. Wish it was on the beach but right across the road from it. We enjoyed the bar at the Sands of Kahana across the road. The staff was accomodating.
Not the 8 star but comfortable.

Can anyone compare the units with Kauai Beach Villas?

Do these units have air throughout? That is one thing that takes a resort off my list if it doesn't have full AC.

Many say "who cares you're not in the room much anyway" but for us we're in the room alot so we like to be comfortable and have a nice view.

We'll go down early spend a few hours by the pool then to the room, then to lunch nearby, then back to the room, then something else.
