Just made an RCI match for Scotland in August. Would I be crazy to not take it?

From what I've seen, deposits are typically during the colder weather seasons. I was surprised to get an OGS match for August.

Where is the match for? August is crazy busy, between the tatoo and the fringe festival. But those are both in Edinburgh. I suspect that your match may not be in Edinburgh.

I am going to Scotland for 2 week, leaving in just over 3 weeks.

It is only a 1 bedroom but there will only be two of us. So economical for points and if there are any electricity charges per bedroom. I saw the festivals which makes me think that GLA is a better option although we would fly into LHR (to see Hamilton.)

I probably cannot beat $299 since these are my resale points that get dumped into RCI every year. I do need to make it to Dunvegan (my clan) and Isle of Skye. Not particularly close but we will get a car. I'd like to make it to the Scottish Highland games so a match in Royal Deeside would be perfect.

I have a 10 day stay in the highlands planned, after a quick visit with my Aunt and cousins and see Les Mis (again) in London area. I just saw Hamilton last month, so I am good to go there.

I am taking the Caledonian overnight train from London to Inverness, then I am in the highland in a variety of places (Hotels, AirBNB, Castle and HGVC timeshare).

I am renting a car and driving until I get back to Edinburgh for last 3 nights. I don't want a car in Edinburgh, and I have been to Edinburgh before so this is a repeat visit.

Hope you took it. My avatar is from a spot very nearby, overlooking Loch Lomond.

My favorite travel quote from Mr. H was made in reference to Scotland: “This is the least pain-in-the-ass country we’ve ever been to”. High holy praise indeed!
