Wow!!! Dial an Exchange called me couple of months ago and asked if I wanted a week in Paris! I had put in a request 2 years ago and forgotten all about it.So I said yes!

This was a nice extended stay hotel near a Metro stop. Someone had deposited a Royal Holiday week with Dial An Exchange. The hotel couldn't manage to convince themselves I was the guest not the Royal owner who deposited the week. I tried twice to explain it to the hotel but none of my friends cold reach me by phone.

Anyhow it was a very nice week in Paris. Thank you DAE!

If it is a Royal Holiday Club week, it is likely a week in a studio or 1bdrm at the Citadines Bastille Gare de Nation. The other property now has a $60/day additional charge and less likely for someone to book and deposit it.

If you get a RHC week from an exchange company at short notice, I would suggest you call the hotel to make sure your confirmation. Unless I have the RHC confirmation in hand, I would spend the money on the phone call lol.

A few months after I bought my RHC about 6-7 years ago I went on a trip to London on a week I booked about 1 month after I purchased the membership while it was still in transfer. I got there a day late due to some scheduling issues and had to spend 2 hrs to convince the front desk that it is my reservation since they had the old owners name on the reservation. It only got resolved when the manager arrived on an unscheduled visit and found my name on a different list which only he had. RHC typically only send the information a month before (likely after it becomes uncancellable) but their admin is sometimes not the greatest.

Mamiecarter, what size unit did you have? If it was the citadines, I been told the rooms have been renovated within the last year and the ones with sofabeds have now been replaced with beds. Can you confirm?

We were there in September and had beds in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. Terrific location! Would love to go there again! Oops, just reread the post and made a mistake, we were at the Bastille location.

Citadenes Gare de Lyon Bastillew one bedroom

We got an UN-renovated unit with holes in the walls, non working stove and kitchen light. I complained repeatedly and they moved us to an updated unit and gave us their 14 Euro breakfast free.
I got the feeling they treat timeshare exchangers like second class guests. The updated unit was nice. So complain if you don't like the unit they give you.

yeah I heard the Citadine Bastille Gare de Lyon did the RHC units last but have done them recently.

I have 2 weeks reserved there in June and was going to use one week with a friend. When my sister did not want the week I reserved for her, have arranged to rented it out for her. Recently found out my Biz school reunion is in Oct. just south of paris so might need to do Oct trip instead of June.
