and it ranges from neanderthal to SOOOOOOOOOOO Slick. Our 1st vacation in Mexico in 20 yrs and the prior two were all-in at out of the way places, so we didn't get to see much of it. Funny part: my wife is even more "No Way No Presentation" than I am, but she twice fell for the "I'm just a nice guy trying to give you info" routine of the TS salesman waiting to throw off his sheep's clothing. I stood there and watched amazed. The 2nd time, it took the guy forever to start making his sales pitch. I stood there doubly amazed. And boy did he lay the groundwork for it. So smooth. I almost felt sorry for him that I am such a mismatch for their chosen routine.

No. The actual resort is the least of the problem. We have no trouble refusing any request for a meeting, and there was only 1 request.
The problem is it pervades the airport and the town and the beaches. It is a damn way of life. Heck, it pervades the waiters in the restaurants.
Bait & Switch. Upsells. Anyone who pays attention must notice it constantly. Still, we had a great time. The ocean was fantastic and the food was not at all bad, though much less variety than in, let's say, Waikiki.
I am sure people who do All-In and never leave their resort barely notice it, but we don't drink enough or eat enough before dinner to ever want All-In anymore. A big breakfast makes me want to not eat lunch, etc for a big lunch & dinner. And I never drink alcohol before happy hour or drink much other than high-quality wine at dinner time. "High-quality" wine barely exists in Mexico. I have a cellar full of it. Drink wine in Mexico? o_O
My wife ordered a half-dozen margaritas around town and they were almost alcohol-free. So were the pina coladas she ordered. Oh, basically pineapple free too.
No thanks. Vacation is a detox experience for me. If you don't come home from vacation feeling 5 or 10 yrs younger, WHY GO??????????

We got back from Cabo less than a month ago. Most of our time was spent at the resort, so the only encounters with salespeople were during the dreaded march towards the airport exit upon arrival, and at the resort (Fiesta Americana).

I assume (of course we all know how that word breaks out) All-In means All Inclusive. We find it easy to skip the folks at the Airport and around Town --- Just keep walking. After Customs we do not stop inside the Terminal. Normally when we go to San Jose del Cabo we stay for a minimum of 3 weeks. Our first week is at our AI Royal Solaris. Then at least a week at Cabo Azul. Then at least a week at Coral Baja.

Cabo is the best for presentations, imo. We were approached at Avis and had our three week car rental comped for attending a presentation. I wanted to get a look at a property we are interested in and snagged it and was able to get a breakfast , tour and $300 by noon.

Then at least a week at Coral Baja

We own WM and occasionally stay here. We did go to a presentation but ended up walking out as they were trying to sell undeveloped real estate.

We recently got $400 taken off of our AI fee at Fiesta Americana, and the total time was only 40 minutes without leaving the resort. I'm not sure what the total presentation time was that we had agreed to.

We made $10 a minute! What a deal.

I’m with Bill presentations are the best money making route in Cabo San Lucus. I know it drives folks absolutely crazy and hubby hates going. I enjoy it. Wheeling and dealing for the best gifts. If we don’t want to go we shut them down by asking for 500.00 USD that works everywhere lol. Plus you see what they will go up to. I totally understand if you’re on a week vacation it’s crazy how much you get solicited. The people doing the solicitation are doing their job. Most have a great sense of humor if you do. No need to be mean or rude. JUST SAY NO like drugs and unwanted sex.

We are in Cabo right now for 3 weeks. On our last week and no one has met the 500.00 cash request.

We are retired now, but started touring to presentations in Cabo in 2005. Yes I have got caught up in the experience a few times and Had to resind the next day. Now we always stay min.3 weeks in Cabo and 2 months in Playa Del Carmen area. Not many new properties there to tour any longer.

I totally disagreed about the restaurants in Cabo. According to trip advisor there are 844 restaurants in Cabo San Lucus. We always eat away from the resorts unless we are super tired or lazy. We rarely eat at the beach or on the Marina. With the exception of Baja Brewery because of the view. Solomons on the Marina for breakfast. Cabo Cantina for football Saturdays.

We have friends staying at the same resort we are for the same 3 weeks which is Playa Grande. They have been to Cabo several times in the last few years. We go to dinner together at least 5 times a week. Never have had a bad or even average meal. I usually pick the restaurants because I do my research. My friends told us last nite at dinner at EL PEREGRINO that was the absolute best meal they have had in Cabo ever. I laughed and replied you say that every time we go out lol. Best Tacos, best fish, best seafood, best barbecue, best Italian, best steak and we are all from the Midwest where beef is the best, best bar food. Even beach bar food. We are not Five star diners. We want casual places with great reviews and modest or average pricing.
Mostly we are not drinkers. I can attest the drinks even the free ones at Playa Grande have kick your ass alcohol in them.

Research and reviews are the way to go.

We love Mexico. We have been to WaikikI, Maui, Kauai a few times. They are all beautiful Islands, but have found them food wise very expensive, and you need a car. Their best selling points are they are part of the USA and speak English(kind of) and use the US dollar. JMO.

We love Omega on the beach for breakfast and lunch. Fisherman's landing at the entrance to the harbor has the best fish. They literally pull the boat up to the restaurant and start preparing it

I hadn't heard of the Omega. Never tried it yet. I'm not even sure I've seen it. I think its on the row of restaurants near the Mango Deck and Office. Is it part of Casa Dorado ?
