Our annual trip to WKORV/N is upon us and we just arrived. Always so happy to be back here. Pleasant surprise on check in was they had upgraded us to OF. Building 8, 4th floor. Not expected since I'm usually here on II trade.

Can't wait for an awesome week in Maui. Aloha everyone!

Looking good - enjoy. Our new friends from WPORV - John and Beth - also from Seattle area - are there this week. Say hello if you run into them.

Nice! That's where we were a couple of years ago, building 8, I think we had 5th floor. Similar view. I thought it is considered ocean view, not ocean front.

Thanks, Denise. I did not realize Building 8 units are designated as ocean front. I do wonder why the palm trees are planted to block the view, maybe it is to lessen the impact of hurricane/storm?

Purely decorative - All 4 ocean front bldgs. at the resort have palm trees in front of them.

I stayed in building 8 last summer. Great view.

How is the adult pool? It seemed to us that it was always dirty with leaves.

I guess it's personal but I much prefer that there is no obstruction to the view of the ocean.

I agree - people are disappointed when they find out they are at palm tree level.

It always ticks me off when we're given a 'palm frond' view. Grrrr.

Awesome view, though it has to stink to have the blood rushing to your head like that. :)

Are they giving outrigger canoe lessons now?

FYI, you can barely see in the first picture above where the new construction is beyond the green space. It really will feel like a different resort because of its distance.

Yes it's a terrible feeling
Since I'm an exchanger I'm happy just to get in here, the view is just a pleasant surprise.

Yes, they are giving lessons it appears now.

Here is a pic of the construction I just took for those interested.

It's the picture of you and your wife. By now, the blood must really be rushing to your head after spending the night upside down. ;)

Thanks for posting that pic of Nanea construction. I didn't realize there was that much space between the resorts. That makes it somewhat inconvenient to share pools and facilities if your staying in one versus other. I would much rather stay at WKORV and WKORV-N and use all the shared facilities within close proximity. Especially with the kitchenette vs kitchen difference.

Has it been established that they will allow sharing of pools at WKORVN/WKORV and Nanea? With how busy the pool is at South I can't imagine adding more strain.

The pools and other common areas of WKOR and WKORN are controlled by the Master Association which is separate from the owners condominium (Appt. Owners Association). Both resorts are a part of the Master Assn. The Master Assn. has it's own budget.

This setup is what allows the occupants of either resort to use the pools and common areas of both resorts. While it is not required by the Articles for WKOR and WKORN, they state that it is anticipated that any new resort would also be a member of the Master Assn, and thus have access to all the pools and common areas of each resort.

I am not sure there will be more strain - I would expect that a lot of people from the current resorts would want to go to Nanea and use the new facilities there - so traffic would go both ways. Especially at first.

After the novelty wears off, I'd expect most people to stay at their home resort, because they don't want to bother with walking to the other resort.

We used StarOptions to turn two weeks of Studio into 12 nights of 1 Bedroom. We check in this coming Sunday. Hope we get a good view as well.

Was told that all Nanea common areas would be accessible to all WKORV guests.
