Hi all,

After purchasing a timeshare directly from HGVC I started to research and found this forum. What a lifesaver! As instructed I wrote a letter signed by my husband and I. My only concern is I'm not sure it was mailed certified. I explained to the post office I need certified overnight delivery. After coming home and seeing what certified mail receipt looks like I then realized it was not sent certified. It was sent Priority Mail express with a signature required. Has anyone gone through this with success?

GREAT MOVE to rescind!

The USPS provided you with a tracking number. Be sure to use it, and PRINT it out when there is a "delivered scan".

Unlike CERTIFIED MAIL, Priority Mail is delivered without a signature. This is why it is so important to use Certified Mail in the event there is some type of dispute.

Hopefully you will receive your full refund within 45 days!

Welcome to TUG, and do think about becoming a member for $15.

@101timeshare
If you can waive delivery now via the USPS website, that would be great. If delivered without a signature, you’d get a Proof of Delivery. https://faq.usps.com/s/article/What-is-Proof-of-Delivery

Unless your instructions specify otherwise, it’s best to resend certified, return receipt requested. As attached, Hilton Grand Vacation club accepts rescission via priority mail express with proof of service. Of course, you won’t get a Proof if Delivery of someone refuses to sign.

We hope your rescission and deposit refund are successful. To track TUG rescission savings, mind sharing how much you saved with rescission? As half of tuggers initially bought developer/retail TS, there is no shame.

HGVC doesn’t have a history of trying to screw people over who have rescinded their contract no matter how it was sent. I doubt you will have any issues. That said, there could always be a first. If you are still within the rescission do as others posted and send again certified return receipt requested. The small amount of postage would be a huge weight off your shoulders.
