Hello, just took advantage of the free trip at Massanutten. A friend of ours is an owner so we had an owner referral. We took the tour and ended up purchasing a unit. I started reading up more on timeshares and specifically Massanutten; I'm feeling like I can do better. We ended up getting week 17 (floating) Woodstone Meadows. Gold Member. Bonus Week included. Maintenance Fees $475 and the unit came out to $12,500 2BA/2BR Luxury Unit. The sales person said it was owner inventory so the maintenance fee was paid for 2021, and we get a bonus week for 2021. The deeded week will start in 2022 and bonus weeks thereafter. Let me know what you think. Thank you!

I signed 4/23 so I can still rescind. Hoping it's a painless process.

If you're having second thoughts, rescind, while you still can. That way you can do your research and make a better choice. There is nothing they sold you that you can't buy again. Follow the rescind directions to the letter, as detailed in the information they gave you. Don't delay, you only have a day or two left until it's too late.

This link goes to completed eBay auctions. As you can see, your timeshare is worth just about nothing. If you want to own it, you can easily buy one for a dollar. Rescind now. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fr...are+for+sale&_sacat=15897&rt=nc&LH_Complete=1

I believe you can obtain Mass weeks for $1. Week 17 is not a high demand week. Rescind.

Thank you for your input. I think that's exactly what's going to happen and try my luck on ebay.

Thank you! Yes, I plan on doing that. I think it's the best option. I can be better informed and educated.

Any buyer who signed the purchase agreement must also sign the rescission paperwork. Make sure you send your rescission paperwork via USPS Certified Mail. Retain your copy of the Postmarked Certified Receipt as well as a copy of the paperwork you send.

Study up and do your homework before you purchase again. What you spent thousands for can likely be purchased for just pennies on the dollar in the resale market.

Congratulations on saving your hard earned money!

You can also check out TUG's Marketplace, Red Week, and Craigslist. Just don't be too anxious to buy. Take your time and do your research. Deals will be out there months, even years, from now.

Also, look at the option of renting first so you can "try before you buy" and see if owning a TS sis right for you.

Okay, good idea. If I'm interested in a place then see if there is a rent option....I like that idea.

Rescind and research. I agree with LannyPC. Do not be in a hurry. The deals will always be there. This is a huge commitment that is not easy to get out of.

I have owned at Massanutten since 1991. I am sad about how much I paid, but I have thoroughly enjoyed it and I love the area. But there are better traders.

I'm in a similar boat. I have owned since 2016, and my only regret is that I didn't find this group earlier. I likely would have still bought, but could have gotten a much better deal.
