Hello!

I just booked at Orange Lake Resort a 2 bdrm villa (River Island) for July 2023 (Wed - Tues) through the IHG website. This will be my family's first trip to Orange Lake! Ideally, I wanted to book it through an owner but it seems like the check in days are only on Saturday or Sundays. Is this correct? Thanks.

We are staying at Orange Lake River Island for two days in November. We are owners, but this is the first visit to River Island accommodations. We are going Sunday -Tuesday. Less points mid week.

Sounds great. How many bedrooms is your Orange Lake unit? Is it a fixed week or a floater? Was it difficult to swap out your home unit for River Island? Thanks.

There are two types of owners at Orlange Lake. Fixed week owners and members of HICV. Points members can book any day of the week depending on availability in their system.

That's good to know. Thank you. So, points owners are not tied down to a specific bedroom unit type---they can book whatever they have points for? Are they also free to choose any check in today? I had someone from this site message me about me canceling my current reservation and booking through him as he he is trying to unload some points he won't be using.

No, we have points and a home week at West Village. I had points left over and used most of them for River Island. Points can be used for short stays at any HICV and have some in IHG too. We haven’t stayed in our home week very often.

we booked two 2 bedroom units (for 16 people) using RCI points for a family reunion this upcoming Christmas (West Village). I noticed that there is also a East Village as well. Can anyone advise what are the differences between the two? which one is newer? Thanks in advance for any tips and suggestions!

There are 4 villages. East, West, North, and River Island. The West is the original section with East being next and River Island is the newest. Orange Lake started in the 80's and both the East and West have been refurbished several times since. Each village has its fans. There is a shuttle that will take you around the whole resort if you don't want to drive. Each village has its own pool area. You can use the amenities at any section of the resort.
