We've stayed at Massanutten a couple times, first in the original section of Woodstone, then in Casa de Campo. This time we decided to try Regal Vistas, and I'm so glad we did! It's wonderful having no one above or below you, and in off season months there probably won't be anyone next to you. We had the building to ourselves, so no concerns about making too much noise or bothering anyone by smoking a pipe on the patio. The units are as nice as any of the Marriotts or Sheratons we've stayed at. Our unit was on Harrington Loop, which had a decent view. Some of the buildings have no view of the mountains, so we felt fortunate. All in all, we had an excellent vacation using Regal Vistas as our base for sightseeing excursions. Being near the entrance, it's the ideal location for getting off property easily.

Nice to hear. Did you have to pay a daily fee per bedroom? What was it, if yes?

@Polly Metallic or @TUGBrian, please refresh my memory as to what an "Official TUG Pool Recruiter" is because I really, really need to know. Like, REALLY. ;)
I’m really proud of that title. I earned it during a stay at the Westin in Maui. Which reminds me I need to keep recruiting TUG members poolside so I won’t lose my title.

Regal Vistas > Summit > Woodstone? In that order?

Stayed at the summit (4 bed/4 bath) last year. Loved it. I drove through the Regal Vista section.

I so far always book Regal Vistas when I go - the RCI Extra Vacations or Last Call prices make it a no brainer to me. Even with the resort fees, they're bang in the middle (don't tell them lol) so not at all the worst. They're also very relaxing units and you can BBQ right there on the Patio. It was also pretty easy to book 2 units and have them be both sides of the duplex for a larger get-together.

I'd say Massanutten is also a middling "stuff to do" - the resort itself has a lot - but IDK what's open when, I don't go for Skiing so only warm weather stuff for me. Theres some stuff around too - lots of caverns, some restaurants and stores from almost right outside the resort to about 35 minutes away.

Excited to hear the review on regal
We are going in August for two weeks
Picked them up when RCI had them for zero trading power just an exchange fee… so very reasonable.

It’s great you got the zero trading power deal for August! The resort’s website showed rental rates of around $350-425 per night depending on length of stay for the week we went in April, which is off season.

Hearing stuff like this makes me wish I had access to a non corporate RCI account lol. I guess I could actually get one with my Fox Run or Gatlinburg Town Square but then IDK if I'd be worth it paying the fee - might be better to look for an RCI trader someday and swap out on the the II traders. IDK. Best I can see is last calls.
