That one hurts. Stax is one of the labels I'll buy even if I have no idea who the artist is. "Good enough to get signed by Stax, good enough for me."

The other labels that get that kind of love: Chess, Blue Note, Verve. I'll be seeing the leader of the Stax house band this weekend. This show is one of the big reasons I'm here in the first place.

He brought soul to soul music back in the day.Singers liked Otis Redding, Sam and Dave, Father and Daughter Duet, Rufus & Carla Thomas.
Plus, Who will ever forget Isaac Hayes and his hit theme song from the movie "Shaft."
