If one needs to go to a different terminal than the one where one landed, does one have to go through security again? I think I land in Terminal 2 and must go to Jet Blue terminal.

Thanks.

Unfortunately yes, you will need to re-clear security once you leave the terminal. Terminal 2 is Delta and Terminal 5 is Jetblue. There is the airtrain that you can use to get from one terminal to another. Here is a link for JFK Terminal Information:

I see the AirTrain costs $5/person. How would one normally get from one terminal to another - walking? I never have been in an airport where the shuttle to the different terminals costs money. If you walk from Terminal 2 to Terminal 5, is that a doable walk? I only have 1.5 hours between my flights. Your thoughts?

Thanks.

You did not "see" far enuff. Go to http://www.panynj.gov/airtrain/cost_tickets.html
and look at the lower right corner: "All AirTrain rides within the airport are free. If you use AirTrain to connect between the airline terminals, parking lots, hotel shuttles, and rental car facilities, there's no fee to pay and no ticket is required."

Either use the "All Terminals" loop or exit and reenter at "Federal Circle."
Charges are incurred only if you travel further out.
