Have been looking at flights to Orlando for mid March on both JetBlue and Southwest. We have flown Southwest before and had no complaints however this time I am having some difficulty getting the dates and flight times I want from them and their fares have actually slightly increased since the last time I looked (about 3 weeks ago). Because of this I am giving consideration to booking with JetBlue. They seem to have a better flight schedule and the total return fare is almost $200 less. For those who have flown JetBlue before were you satisfied with your overall flight experience. Is there any need to know information about JetBlue? For any of you who have flown on both Southwest and JetBlue, would you recommend one over the other?

I flew Jet Blue last about 4 years ago. I used to live much closer to Long Beach Airport (CA), now live 10 minutes from LAX. LAX offers more selection in airlines, flights schedules and prices. However LAX is a major hassle and Long Beach was a very nice little airport.

I say all this so you understand why it's been 4 years. If I still lived closer to LB I'd probably still fly Jet Blue. They don't have as many planes or flights as SW and don't go as many places. Service however was good and you get a little TV screen directly in front of you which you have control over with Direct TV to keep you happy.

I'd fly on them again, especially if I could save $200.

I say go JetBlue, if for nothing else than the fact that their planes are generally newer, or newish and you get your personal video screen in every seat. That's worth it to me. Bring your own headphones, I think they started charging 2 or 3 bucks recently, as have many of the major airlines.

I hate that I've invested so much time and money in American Airlines as instead of adding features for travellers, they continue to take them away. I was shocked a few months ago when the temp on an American Eagle flight was around 58 degrees F and I asked for a blanket the Attendant said they would be happy to sell me a blanket and pillow combo pack for 7 dollars! I think they dropped that plan after a month or so, but really? I was inscensed! (and I declined his kind offer and thus froze all the way home to MA) I travel on AA about 6 times a month. Because it's convienent and they have direct flights where I need to go, but really.... It's getting ridiculous!

Jet Blue, without a doubt.
Their fleet is so new, that on a flight to NY last Summer, they had not finished hooking up the seat-back TV's on some rows and offered to reseat passengers without. IMHO, they're a class-act, not a cattle-herder like SWA.

LIke both but Jet Blue our favorite

We have only flown short distances on Jet Blue but it was my favorite. We use Southwest a lot because it flys most places we go to.

i fly both JETBLUE AND SOUTHWEST and like them both. if jetblue has the better schedule then go with them. price/schedule are my only criteria to pick one over the other.

going out of islip on SW is so convenient. love flying both airlines. i travel SW to florida 3-4 times a year. and jetblue is the transportaion we take to the bahamas every year.

once you book with jetblue check back every now and then to see if the price of your trip lowers, they will credit your account if it does. i got back $600 last year from my flights that i paid for.

i have 4 free flights for next year using their credit card. PM me and i can give you all the info on its use.

Don't know a thing about Jet Blue, but here in Dallas 90% of the time my choice is between Southwest and American. Anytime there is a chance I might have to change or cancel a trip I go with Southwest because of their liberal change and cancellation policies.

We have flown JetBlue any number of times, between JFK and various Florida airports, and to Oakland. The only complaint I have ever had was the crowds at the Security lines at JFK. Supposedly, that is better now, since they opened their new terminal. Never had any complaint about the flight or the customer service, however, and you get to reserve a seat.
