I will contact Jet Blue about this issue as well, but wondering what might happen in this case. I have travel credit with Jet Blue for a flight we were supposed to take in October. I heard on the news last night that Jet Blue is pulling out of Albuquerque airport. They only had one flight each day, a nonstop to NYC. Being that is the only flight I ever use on Jet Blue, there is no airport anywhere close that I could get a Jet Blue flight, do you think there is any chance they would give me an actual refund at this point?

Best of luck with this, @Luanne - I suspect there will be more people who find themselves in similar situations in the coming days.
I suspect Albuquerque's airport is similar to Little Rock (our usual point of departure) and while Southwest seems to be on solid footing, one never knows how the future travel chart will look when then day comes we can travel again.

I have already noticed that SW, which does have a large presence in ABQ, has discontinued their nonstop flights to San Jose, CA. Since we're not planning on doing any travel in the near future I haven't looked at other routes.

I know that Jet Blue is pulling out due to low demand. I read somewhere that they recently had a flight with just one passenger from NYC to ABQ, but they had to make the flight since the return was bringing medical personnel back to NYC from ABQ.

I was originally thinking I could use the credit when/if we go to NYC next year. It's possible the pull out may be temporary. It was only for one one-way flight, so not a lot of money. I was just curious what they might do.

Probably SOL. What happens when someone moves to an area without service? Try to fight it but if you get a cash refund so should everyone else.

Good Luck. My bunch is your best hope is it you have travel insurance on it. Or possibly through your credit card?

It's only $138 so if I lose it not a big deal. My guess is they won't do anything as this may be just a "temporary" change. I had hoped to use it next year if we go to NYC.

I did take out travel insurance. But I've already cancelled that trip so I wonder if the insurance is even still valid? I may call them and see what they say.

I feel any small city airport in the United States with low demand flights to anywhere; major U S Airlines liked Jet Blue, Delta and United will be pulling their service from that airport.

Oh yes they are. But in this case there is only one flight that Jet Blue has in Albuquerque. So in effect, they are pulling out completely. It's not like I could use them to fly somewhere other than NYC. Other airlines seem to be pulling flights.

You: "But now, I can't even rebook the same flight."
J-B: "You could drive [move to] someplace where we have service."
...imagining the conversation...

Uh huh. The two "closest" airports would be Denver, at about 6 hours away and Phoenix at about 7 1/2 hours. For $138 I think I'll forget it. Also I would probably get the "Well this is only temporary" thing as well.

After doing some more checking and having a chat conversation with Jet Blue, I found they are not pulling out of ABQ completely. They have just cut back from daily flights to a few per week. Also if you go further out into their schedule they are back to daily flights. So the newscasters were a bit wrong with their story.
