She struggled throughout the game and only managed to answer two questions correctly and finished with -$5,400.

Watching her it was clear she having great difficulty, either medically or mentally. Alex noted it himself when he said, "Priscilla, I think nerves got the best of you today...You were
just so nervous." This was beyond just nerves. However, it seems her nervousness did however resonate with many fans. Alot of people mentioned it on Twitter showing their support.

If you knew you we subject to that, why would you place yourself in that position on national television?

Well, maybe she thought she could overcome her nervousness or maybe she didn’t think she would be that nervous!

I have no doubt that also was factor.

I felt bad for her because, you could see her shaking and trembling so noticeably when trying to answer and she was just unable to form the words. It look like she wasn't having problems
with the buzzer, but she just couldn't get the words to come out.

Yes, it was sad. At first I thought she was having a stroke as she spoke and her answers made no sense.

I'm often surprised how composed most people actually are in front of the big lights and cameras. If it was temporary I hope they have back on a medical exemption.

I wonder why they would televise a show like that. I’m sure the contestants have to sign all kinds of waivers and wouldn’t be able to stop it, but why would the powers that be want that show on the air? It makes me think they are uncaring and almost cruel to that contestant. I don’t know why they would want to do that.

I believe i heard that as part of the process to qualify for the show they put your through a number of mock taping. I am sure the producers want a competitive show, but obviously sometimes things go wrong...

Some days I do great at Jeopardy from the comfort of my family room, but I know its a whole different experience in front of the cameras.

For game shows like Jeopardy it's typically a long day for the contestants when the shows are being taped. Game shows do test tapings/rehersals so the contestants get to experience what it's like before they tape the shows that will be aired. I don't know about Jeopardy but some shows will reject contestants based on them not performing or presenting well and some contestants may decide not to proceed with participating.

She isn't the first contestant to do poorly or to be visibly nervous. Maybe the show she was in airing right as most of us were watching the championship shows made her poor performance stand out more. She sure did seem to fall apart. Long day, tired, hungry, over heated by all the lights, etc., it could have been any number or combination of things.

I completely agree. I have anxiety issues myself and there is no way I’m voluntarily going on camera for anything, much less, an intelligence competition. And, I am by no means blaming her. I actually admire her for having the strength to stay there and not run off. Whatever she was experiencing, it took a lot of strength to stay there.

I read an article about this episode, the article said that while Priscilla lost the game, she won in the online comments after the show. Apperantly she got a ton of positive comment and note of support. The article went on to state that apparently having an occasional contestant that chokes helps with the ratings, as those contestant seem more relate able than the top performers like James and Ken. That makes sense to me.

I watched part of the episode. She was really an extreme case. I hope she's all right.

I had a friend who was on the show years ago, and from his stories about the screening process, I'm amazed she made it onto TV at all.
