It's getting to be a problem to arrange travel because of flights.

I know AA it's CSR only, I believe, unless they've updated their online system in the past two years (that's our last fights with them, and they changed our flights then too)

I guess I should have said that you were referencing my post on Southwest. My bad. But thanks for the info on AA and having to speak to a live person. Yet another reason I really like Southwest!

Simply changing online may result in you having to pay a price differential.
To avoid that, if the change is the fault of the airline, you need to talk to a CSR.

Nope. If you’re eligible for a free flight change, it will permit it in the app. I just did this a couple weeks ago.
