Not for us!!! Even though I read an article about this subject.....

Not worried about driving it, DH drove 18 wheelers when he was out of work at one point when he was young. He is good at maneuvering large vehicles.

More worried about staying married, LOL. We need our own space, especially when we are spending lots of tIme together like on a vacation. That is one of the reasons timeshares work for us, we always have 2 rooms and 2 TVs and hopefully a verandah too. There is no way we would spend weeks in an RV and say it was the best vacation ever.
With ya on that. timeshares allowed both the early and late risers to be happy.

I did see quite a few rental RVs on my trip a few weeks ago. It would not surprise me if some were early to grab their reservations and bookings remain tight. It's a fun way to travel. It's so nice to not have to take a suitcase and have everything you need for indoors and out. My gut feel is that this time next year, there will be plenty of 1 year old RVs with little mileage on deep discount.... "we thought we'd use it more ..." I would have followed my football team to their not-so-distant away games. Not this year.
