Is RCI elimintationg 9000 point late notice exchanges?

I originally posted this in the wrong forum for Madge. Here we go again...

I spent 90 fun filled and informative minutes at the Grandview Las Vegas this week end and was told something interesting. This is a points resorts, and when I asked the rep about the 9000 points weeks, he said this option is no longer in the RCI book and they are no longer allowed to use this point feature in their sales presentation. This was a shock for me, because I was thinking into getting into points partially because of this feature. Has anyone heard about this? What do you know about this Madge?

I take it that this question refers to Points members trading into the Weeks 45-day window through crossover trades for 9000 points?

I have not heard this. I'll do some inquiring to see what I can find out about the information you received.

I was able to confirm that we have no foreseeable plans to discontinue the discounted point values under 45 days.

Resorts that use the website during their presentations often show how to use points to make reservations into Points and Weeks resorts, and usually feature how the close date discounted weeks reservations would be made. However, Berkley discourages mentioning this feature so as not to mislead buyers about the availability of these last-minute vacations.
