How's the weather and are there any special Christmas season activities?
We have never been to New Orleans. It is on our list.

New Orleans decorates beautifully for Christmas. I don't know about special activities but I'd bet there are some. A search will give you quite a few hits. New Orleans doesn't miss many opportunities to have a party.

Daytime temperatures could run as high as the 60s or as low as the 30s. First time there I'd recommend spring or fall. Late March or early April -- between Mardi Gras and the festivals in April and May. October should be nice as long as no hurricane threatens.

There is some availability -- studios, one and two bedroom units -- at the two Wyndham resorts starting Friday, December 21.

New Year's Eve is fun but quite crowded, plus the Sugar Bowl crazies come to town about then.

We stayed at Bluegreen La Pension the Christmas before last. They have a nice tree in the lobby and they gave us ornament kits to decorate the tree. There are a lot of nice places to have brunch around the holidays - such as Commanders Palace.

An unusual custom around the New Orleans area at Christmas is bonfires. They start a week or more before the holidays and end on Christmas Eve. Groups/families build huge bonfires on the levies - they all light them at the same time and it is one giant festivity. Different cities have bonfires on different nights. Well worth a visit - very unique to the area.

Before the renovation, Club la Pension was said to be the second best timeshare in New Orleans...After the renovations, Im guessing it will get better reviews then the Quarter House

here is a link to the decorators report that will give you an idea of how they intended to furnish the place

Is Club la Pensione a Wyndham property?

Love the design concept but am confused by the part about the yaya chairs being mounted on the wall?

No, Club La Pension is now a BlueGreen Property This is a recent thing, and its Blue Green that decided on the renovation and hit everyone uo for a $1585 special assessment last year and raised the mf by over 15% this year...Some would say thats excessive, others would say its good management

The guy that assembled the buildings and developed Club La Pension as a timeshare property is however, the same guy that developed Avenue Plaza, which is a Wyndham property
