Is July just a slow month for II deposits normally?

We really only search for Disney Vacation Club daily with our traders, but typically we see a lot more deposits than we are seeing lately. Is July just a slow month for DVC deposits into II or is the state of the economy affecting people trading out of their home resorts or something? I would think that MORE people would be trading out to something closer to home if the economy were the issue. Is summer just a slow time? We've only been exchanging on II for a couple of years and I can't remember if last summer was this slow.

What are you trading? It's possible that your resort has lost trade value for some reason and you are no longer able to pull DVC. We're seeing quite a few of them on the Sightings forum.

If you join TUG you'll have access to that forum. That will let you see if you can pull the ones that others are seeing. If not, that's the problem.

Our resort is Foxrun and I don't think that it's lost trade value. I still see a lot of DVC ever morning, but not really anything near the amount that I was seeing in the spring. It seems to have died off in the past month or so.

How do you join TUG beyond signing up to use the message boards?

You pay a modest annual fee. There is a link at the far right of my menu bar at the top that says "join TUG". It's well worth the fee, in my opinion, to have access to the wonderful reviews. I don't ever book a week without looking there first.

The sightings forum is also a good benefit of membership.

I know what you mean about the DVC sightings. You are right, Foxrun hasn't lost trade power; in fact, I believe we have seen an increase in trade power this past year.

The reason we were seeing so much for a while there, back in January and February, is that Disney had a special offer to all who bought Disney points. The offer was an equal amount of points to the purchase in a free vacation, so many people were depositing their points into II for a future vacation. This created a huge banking daily of DVC.

I hope they do that again soon. :D I might also consider a purchase, if they do it this fall.

Oh, and thanks for the DVC explanation. I couldn't figure out why it looked like things had dropped off so much. DH is somehow convinced that we said the same thing last July, but I don't remember that. Your explanation makes more sense.

You are welcome!

I have sent you an invite to the Yahoo group. Anyone else who wishes to join, even if you don't own Foxrun or Fairways of the Mountain, may also email me. :D

The good news is that folks buying in AKV/Kidani right now are being offered developers points because Kidani doesn't open until May '09---they are only good for SSR or II. This started about a month ago.

So, perhaps we'll see another influx!

the members only Sightings & Distress Board

IGNORE THIS POST. I forgot where I as on the site. DUH SORRY!!!!!!

Someone in an earlier post mentioned "the members only Sightings & Distress Board". Is that different than the board we are on right now? I am a TUG Member and was not aware of there being a different board. I thought you had to be a member to see any Sightings & Distress Board.

I may be missing something.
