I can't use them until 2010.
I think it would cost 59 dollars or so, right?

You have 5000 annual points. In 2008 you booked something for 4400 points. So for your 2008 use year you have 600 remaining.
In 2009 you booked something for 6200 points, so used all your 2009 and you borrowed 1200 from 2010.
In 2010 you have only borrowed 1200 points so you have 3800 remaining.
When did you purchase these points? You bought them on the resale market right. It could be that these are the previous owners usage remaining.
Is that possible?
...3. Immediately reserve again the extra day (before someone takes it) and the system will now use your rescued points first... yes, before it uses the 2010 points...
Hang on. The first cost in the is $69 to rescue the points. The second cost, unless you are elite, is $69 to change the first reservation, then ANOTHER $69 to change it again.
Hold on there, hoss...
You can't make a reservation for just one-day, can you? So, don't you have to:
1. Rescue the 2008 points;
2. Cancel the 2009 reservation altogether;
3. Re-make the reservation, thus using rescued points B4 the 2010 points?
A reservation must be at least three days. But you can drop and add days to any reservation without cancelling it and remaking it.
How about converting to Hilton Honors (a little birdie gave me that idea)? I love getting away for the weekend.
So I called. They put my reservation on a special hold. They took my 69 bucks and then applied my 600 points towards the reservation in Hawaii. They reinstated my reservation - exact same thing - and now I have 600 more points for 2010. THANK YOU ALL. I think that was worth the 69 dollars!! You are THE BEST as always!
If you don't ask the answer is always no.
