It looks like Mexicondo is no more, at least it is not being kept up to date. I am not sure about what others think, but i find the new TUG classified a little more troublesome than it used to be and Omcancun, well, ...
I used to follow these sites to see what's available and what the market looks like, but lately I find navigating these sites a bit of a challenge. My favorite site was Mexicondo, watched it, used it and found it real easy to look for things, and lets face it, for what they charged, it was great.

I'm with you.

Maybe the first step is to contact Ken and offer help with Mexicondo. I've been thinking of doing that, but does anyone here know Ken?

I don't know Ken, and I feel for him being ill, but I have to say I am upset with him. While he was too sick to post our ads last May, he was not too sick to take our money for the 2 ads. I realize we are not talking about a lot of money, but it is annoying to me that he took my money and never placed the ads. The least he could do is refund me my money. I myself, will not use Mexicondo again, based on this experience. (Of, and I emailed him several times about this with no response).

Another good website that rents primarily Royal Resorts is this:

we have made some changes to the marketplace that will make ad browsing a bit easier.

when looking at the ad results in the marketplace, we now display the ad description along with the ad data.

you can toggle this on and off using the "see results in Ad Detail View" link at the top of the results page.

One of the things I really liked about the old system was that when I clicked on an ad the other ones above/below it in the search also showed, making it easy to browse through them. Is that basically what the "see detail" toggle does?

yep...it formats the page almost identical to the old system.

you can check it out and look for yourself, the pages are now live as of last night.

I sent an e-mail to tonyg and hopefully he will be in contact with Ken.
I agree, I submitted an ad back in May before I knew things were not right. I can only imagine how many submissions were made and charged via Paypal ...hopefully someone can step up and unsnarl the mess.

Same thing happened with me. I do hope Ken gets to feeling better, but he definitely should not have accepted the money and not posted the Ad.

I haven't talked to Ken for quite a while now so I don't know what his current status is. I'm sure that when he gets to the point where he can sit and work on the computer, he will refund any fees for ads not placed.

We bought our Royal Islander timeshare from Ken directly as it was his. We have had several email conversations with him (not recently) but found him to be totally above board and feel certain when and if he is able, he will certainly make amends for any problems occuring while he was incapcitated. We do know that he took on the total responsibility of a teenage grandchild also which may have led to his being unable to deal with Mexicondo. Give the man a chance!

I checked the sites some mentioned. One is a social network, which is great if that's what you're looking for and you have to sign up and wait for admin permission to let you in, the timeshare one is , well, still not the same and I tried TUG again. Not sure if this is a problem, but when i try to sort the year month column, i get weird numbers like 01-50, or 40-52, not sure what that is , i guess its weeks 01 to week 50 or something like that.

Mexicondo, was simple, you went to the royal resort rental page and just paged down to the week you're looking for and, well all was there...

I hope they revive it soon.

OK, I understand life issues, and as I mentioned, I fell for him being sick. BUT, we are talking about business here, and MONEY. Would you be so quick to say that ("give the man a chance") if you ordered something on Ebay, paid for it, and it was never sent to you? Let's be real here, it is BAD BUSINESS to accept money for something if you do not provide the service.

Again, I hope Ken feels better and gets back on his feet soon. Don't confuse me being upset with him from a business side of things over my personal feelings that I hope he gets better. And, I too, used to like his site the best.

correct, those are floating weeks. 1 - 50 and 40 - 52 etc.

you can do that now, simply go to any resort review page and click the classifieds tab.

like this one for the royal sands.

http://tug2.com/RnR/TabResortClassifieds.aspx?Tab=C&ResortGUID=0f8d953d-eac9-4a4b-a6c9-accddacdf7f5

you can now browse to any resort review page and simply view all ads currently listed for that resort with ease.

 Thanx TUGBrian

I guess i had to try a little harder, but after a few minutes of navigation, I can find what i need. Good job. I guess the main difference is that Mexicondo is almost 90% dedicated to the Royal Resorts which is good for us RR owners, the advantage with the TUG site is that it covers all resorts which is great. Hopefully people will use it so we can see what's available. I will, well, not this year, next year (2010), I am planning to use my unit in 2009 and looking forward to it, but will be renting in 2010.

My feelings are similiar. I paid for 3 ads back in April that were posted in May (the last date that it was apparently updated). One ad was posted, one posted incorrectly, one not posted at all. I asked for a correction or a refund, got nothing. If, however, you contact his email address in one of the ads, there was a response for someone willing to conduct the transaction.
