I would like to visit Elara, never been to. Is there encore package available? I’m not interested in buying Hilton, just want to stay in Vegas at Elara particular days. Thank you.

Yes, HGV has a 3-night package available, which is usually $199. However, I will add that I purchased one of these last year, and they almost never had availability on the dates I wanted. They kept offering different resorts, and one time even pitched that we stay at Hampton Inn a few miles off the strip. I would be careful buying a package if you need a specific weekend for a popular event.

I've used the $199 deal many times with no or minimal issues.

One time I called and the only resort available was the Trump Tower. The reservation date was pretty far out, and the agent said that he would monitor the reservation for availability at the Elara. At about six months out, he called and said he had re-booked us at the Elara! I was surprised by the level of service.

I could say something snarky about buying a presentation
like, "Is it possible to shoot yourself by playing with a gun?"
But I'm much too polite to do so.

The presentation is in the Elara, and my record for getting in and out of the presentation is 20 minutes. For me it is well worth $199 for three nights, and around 30 minutes in a presentation.

Thank you for the information. I need it for particular days, so I bought it through Marriott and my dates were available. Still want to try Elara:)

I think the fact that their file shows that I've been to the presentation many times without buying anything helps. Also, I'm not bothered at all by emotional attempts to get me to buy something. It is just numbers to me.

There are other posts on these boards about how to keep presentations short by saying as little as possible, and not engaging or expanding on any topic that the salesperson trots out for discussion.

That was our recent experience with one in Orlando. We wanted to stay at HGVC Seaworld but for the dates we wanted they could only get us a Double Tree. We picked different dates that had availability at Seaworld.

If you're just looking to stay at Elara and don't mind sitting through a timeshare presentation, it could be a solid deal. $199 for three nights isn’t bad, though keep in mind, they might try to push other resorts if Elara's fully booked on your dates. As long as you don’t mind the pitch (and can breeze through it), it’s a pretty decent way to get a cheap stay in Vegas.

These packages have worked for me a few years back, and purchased the package last year based on my prior experiences. We planned a couple of trips to Vegas, but they were both fixed dates to attend weekend events. It probably would have worked out better if we had the flexibility or the option to travel midweek. Not sure if Vegas has just gotten busier with concerts, the Sphere, NFL, etc or if HGV is doing a better job of booking tours.

One weekend, I tried. The agent said they had a room at Elara but no more presentation appointments. I offered to stay and save them the time of the presentation, but they were not interested in that.

Our record is about 5 minutes in NYC. The sales guy asked us about our recent resale purchase on the walk from the lobby to his desk, and said he would not be able to beat that. He said that unless we wanted to buy in NYC for "better conversion to Honors," then we would be done. Never even sat down at his desk.

But otherwise, I try to avoid asking questions, and don't play into their games. That said, in the last presentation on Oahu, the sales guy quickly decided we would not buy but stated we needed to sit at his desk for 60 minutes to fulfill the presentation requirements. He left to "consult with the sales manager, and came back at precisely one hour to escort us out. It was not exactly painful, but it used up vacation time that might have been better spent outside.

Elara is very expensive for dates in November as it is for Formula 1 racing and Elara is participating in it so 1 night goes to a lot $$$$$ so I already booked Marriott for those dates.

You wouldn't have been able to get F1 dates on a sample presentation tour booking anyway. HGVC has been blocking out those dates even from owners.

Thank you for letting me know as I was planning to keep looking. I’m actually was very happy with Marriott while we stayed there for Formula. We could see track and car racing from our room even.
