I have a Marriott Credit card that I really only use for Marriott stays. I put everything else on my Citibank American Airlines credit card. I am considering changing to put everything on the Marriott credit card since it looks like you can convert to miles on many airlines. Am I missing something like it may take more miles using Marriott points?

We have both - an American Express Delta Skymiles card and the Marriott Visa. One Amex and one visa.

Yes, you can convert Marriott Rewards poinhts to FF miles. However, unless you plan to order Travel Packages, the conversion rate to FF miles is lousy. See the charts on this page for the conversion rate.

I use my Marriott Rewards credit card for everything related to Marriott and use an airline card for everything else.

I follow this approach, except gas, groceries, and drug stores go on our Amex Blue that gives us 5% off of those purchases.

This is one area that I have not done much research as I use the Marriott card and the Amex card.

Is there a credit card (other than Amex) that offers points on purchases that can be converted 1 for 1 to FF miles on ANY of the major airlines?

Can AMEX points be converted into Marriott points? I know I had done that a few years ago, but not sure if that's possible now.

They discontinued that a couple years ago or so.

Seems that miles are getting more and more useless. I tried to book USAIR miles to Puerto Rico - 60K for a ticket that costs 280 dollars. :wall: Right now I use Marriott credit card more, but use the points for higher priced Marriotts.

We just used FF miles to book a trip to UK and the tariffs (taxes, fuel surcharge, baggage surcharge, etc, etc) came to $300- so you end up spending $300 for your free ticket! It wasn't like this in the old days- the extras were barely anything- I guess everything devalues over time.

i know for a hotel vs use points thought process, the formula to use is $0.0125 per MRP.

is there a similar rule-of-thumb for airline tickets?
