Is Don Pancho Beach Resort Queensland Australia a decent place to stay?

I see a lot of bonus time for this resort throughout the year on DAE. The reviews are quite old. Does anyone have any updated information? Is it a decent place to stay for 2 adults? Is the drawback of this T/S that it is over 4 hour drive from the Brisbane airport or that Surfers Paradise/Gold Coast is the preferred location?

TIA, Paul

Hi Paul
We have stayed there on three occasions, the last being last year.
The resort is literally on the beach. Not really a swimming beach but a short walk to reasonable swimming area. No surf. About a 15 minute drive into Bundeberg. Opposite a golf course. Bargara is a very small town.
The resort has a pool and a restaurant.
The resort is old and definitely in serious need of refurbishment.
Our last stay was in a studio apartment. Couldn't swing a cat in the kitchen. My sister slept on the Pull out bed in lounge which meant you had to climb over it if you wanted to go outside. Pullout was so uncomfortable they bought a mattress topper to make it bare able. Bedroom very small with little storage space.
Family units are slightly better but still haven't been updated for at least 20 years.
That said, it is a good starting spot to visit the area.

Thanks for the input. Normally I prefer to stay in the Surfers Paradise area, but I wanted to stay north of Brisbane on this trip so that I could explore the area,
