Is a silver week at Marriott Marbella a good purchase?

I recently stayed at Son Antem in August 2008 (courtesy of a free week when we purchased directly from Marriott) and would like to go back to the resort many times in the future at the same time? Unfortunately, I am unable to afford a resale gold or platinum week at this resort. It has been suggested that I could purchase a resale silver week at Marbella, which is about £3500 and through interval I should be able to exchange for Son Antem for the last two weeks of August. Due to childcare commitments, we are restricted to the last two weeks in August every year.

We have tried to use part of our 2bed lock off at Horizons to exchange at son antem in August without any success to date .

I welcome any advice from your experiences of exhanging to Son Antem in August and the feasibility of utilising a silver week to achieve this objective.

Thanks

Purchase another Horizons Orlando or Branson Platinum resale and trade in with MUCH lower fees......

I understand the Spain MFs are quite high when paid in US dollars....

And you would have a Platinum week to trade which is waaaay better then a silver.

If you're that restricted, I wouldn't buy it for trading. Pick up a Manor Club platinum - I hear between 8 - 10K.

I have just exchanged into the first week of August 2009 at Son antem (PLATINUM TIME).

I used a 2 bedroom Marriott Phuket Beach club Gold week. When I deposited my reserved week I also received an A/C from Interval International.

This is the third consecutive year I have achieved this particular exchange.

Paid £3200 for the Phuket gold resale.

Maintenance fees were £325 / $625 for 2008.

Hope this helps
