We already have a week in Cancun and thinking of adding another week since we have to travel from west coast. Is there enough activity to keep us busy for 2 week in Cancun? We will be going with a 3 years old toddler. We are staying 1 week at Royal Islander and thinking of adding a week at Mayan Riviera.

We go with 3 children and feel that one week is too short, with all that goes into planning for one week you might as well stay for the second week. Next we actually own 3 weeks at the Sands but only stay two. Next summer we will be starting with a week at the Royal Hacienda, we can't wait for that.

Never enough time to do all you want in Cancun. If you are going to the Mayan Riveria for the second week it will be like going to another place. very different. ENJOY

2 weeks in great

Absolutely, I agree that there is enough to do in Cancun for 2 weeks, and if you choose to take the second week in Riviera Maya, it really makes for a very different experience, the combination is great.

I agree, we started with one week, then went to two weeks now this year was our first time doing three weeks and it was a great vacation. My advise to anyone just doing one week is to try and not do too much during your one week. Sometimes you can over book yourself and leave Cancun exhausted.

If you can afford the time and money go for THREE weeks ! You may want to book a different resort for your third week, perhaps near Playa del Carmen.
You don't get tired of the sand and sun.

Two weeks is great because you can really take things at a slower pace and don't feel like time is running out. I find that by the end I'm sort of ready to go home.

I also enjoy watching people go home on Saturday and not being one of them!

I now have a 2 week minimum, we're not even ready to come home then. About mid week of the 3rd week we get the feeling that it's time to go home.

We stayed at Club international and then the Royal Mayan for two weeks in December 2003 and it was great. Got to stay at two different parts of Cancun. Week one was at the calm beach area at Club International and we also went downtown from there a couple of nights for dinner as well as spending one day at isla Mujeres via the slow paced local ferry boat. Week two was spent in the center of the Cancun strip area at the tri Royals as well as spending two days at the Royal Sands ( one was a rainy day where we went to the Spa for the morning and the mall for shopping in the afternoon). We also enjoyed day trips to Playa Del Carmen and Xcaret during our second week. The beach here and the waves for boogey boarding was totaly different than our first week.

Come to think of it we could have easily spent another week but had to go back to the normal grind of commuting back anf forth to work during the cold winter days in NY. :)
