President Bush signed the bill today that gives relief from the required minimum distribution from IRAs for 2009 for those over 70 1/2. This at least provides an opportunity for some recovery in value for these retirement funds.

Yes, it's part of the Worker Retiree & Employer Recovery Act of 2008. Note that it doesn't provide any relief for those who have not yet taken their 2008 minimum required distribution. That is still required.
