We don't travel internationally often, and I just switched from a BlackBerry to an iPhone, so I'm pretty clueless about making calls from Aruba. What do we need to do to obtain phone service and/or internet data capability with the iPhone? Is it terribly expensive?

Unlocked iPhone

I have an old iPhone that I unlocked and use in many islands that I visit. I just purchase a SIM card along with some time. I think to call the US its about $0.30 per min. Calls coming in are free and i use the free wifi across the street from the casino in Maho. You can add time pretty easily with cards.

Not sure where you are from but I am from Ontario Canada...I simply called our provider, Rogers, and added an "international package"...cost about $40 and gave me a certain number of phone minutes and a certain number of text's....I could also have added an additional data plan as well but our hotel, Marriott Ocean Club has wireless. Phone worked great in Aruba.
