Questions....I really like the retrade option with Interval, and always pay extra for the option. Wondering your thoughts on retrade option? Do we still have Marriott priority?

If you are enrolled. No extra fees unless you are upgrading in size. Marriott priority would still apply.

If you are not enrolled. Regular exchange fees plus size upgrade (if applicable) fee would apply. You can get eplus which would mean no additional exchange fees for 3 retrades. Marriott priority would still apply.

For some reason, I think they OP is indicating that they already have ePlus since they say they are paying extra for that retrade option. They don't specify ePlus, but I suspect they already have it.

We've used it a few times to get a better resort, better week, larger unit or better start day. I assume this is a non corporate II account you're paying for personally. With the corporate account you could do retrades anyway without paying as long as it's Marriott to Marriott. Most likely wouldn't want to pay for the option in the corporate account in most situations but it would depend on specifics. My understanding is the priority still applies though I don't know how this will work with the Vistana priority recently announced. My guess is they will be included and the priority there will apply also and retrades there will be free in the corporate account.

Boy, am I stupid - I just purchased E-Plus for a Marriott II trade. I was wondering why there was a “Retrade” option in the confirmation?? Now after $59 wasted, I understand why. So if you use the “Retrade” option, will it only show Marriott availability?

Jwerking, I was also once young and dumb, purchased the e-plus before I understood about Marriott to Marriott retrade, then I got schooled here at TUG. I called Interval, explained what I had done, and they refunded my money. It may be worth a phone call for you.

It will show you all inventory available based on your search. It is just that the retrades will have a $0 fee.

I haven't done it on the corporate side. I suspect you will be charged the fee if it's to a non Marriott on the retrace.

This is correct. Though if you add ePlus, there is no retrade fee to non Marriotts. This would be a way to get a discounted trade fee when going Marriott to non Marriott. As long as you are searching online inventory, pull the Marriott to Marriott first, add ePlus then retrade using ePlus for the non Marriott. The cost would be $59 vs $209.

Wait. If I am using a Marriott Interval account (destination club), I do not have to pay for E Plus Retrade? Good to know. I think I wasted $59 then.

You'll get free retrade (now that you bought it) even for non Marriott trade.

If you EPlus do you also have to pay the upgrade fee if you nab a larger unit outside of the 60 day window?

Yes. Size upgrade fees are applicable for retrades outside of 60 days with or without eplus.

I never knew this either. Though I have never done a retrade, I've thought about it before and didn't know if I was an enrolled owner, there would be no EPlus fees. So glad I read TUG.

If you are doing a Marriott to Marriott retrade, can you retrade more than once for free?

If you are an enrolled Marriott owner exchanging from a corporate account to another Marriott exchanges are free so you can cancel and rebook to another Marriott as often as you want for free.

No limit on the number of retrades, except when you hit deposit expiration. You can't confirm a retrade checkin beyond the expiration of your initial deposit.

And you can do this from your II account? If so, how do you do it? With eplus you go to the history tab and it has a specific button to click on for a retrade. Thanks for any help.

You do this in your II account. You go to the exchange history, and in the action column for a Marriott exchange, it says "start retrade".

The only thing you can't do online is cancel and rebook.

I can see how that’s easy to do. The website prompts you by asking you to purchase Eplus. My trades are always with enrolled weeks so I have retrades with no fees as I always have traded for Marriotts but I can see how it would be easy to click that button especially if one has two interval accounts.

Please remember that for an E Plus retrade that is purchased, you are still trading against your original unit that you relinquished, not your current reservation. In other words, you are not "trading up" with each re-trade.
