Basic question, if I deposit a week and obtain an other through the system, do I have to utilize the week I obtained or do I essentially get all the rights to it and can subsequently list it as a rental?

Per Interval International terms and conditions, you can't rent out a unit that you obtain from an exchange.

Interval does not allow rental of units procured (trade/getaway/etc.) through their site.

If you quietly rent it to friends or family who understand the situation, you will probably not get caught.

If you advertise it on the internet to strangers, you are far more likely to get caught, because they may intentionally, or inadvertently, turn you in for renting a II exchange.

If you get caught, the consequences can be pretty harsh. Interval can confiscate your deposits and exchanges, and freeze your Acct.
