Are vacation club points given priority over weeks when exchanging?

In II, some weeks with lower trading power won't be able to see some others with way higher trading power. Points can pretty much see everything, you'll just then need to actually have enough points to complete the booking.

As a caveat, I see you own an MVC property. With Abound points you can only book in Abound for properties that participate in that system (Marriott/Westin/Sheration, etc.). You can only book non-Abound properties (Hyatt, Disney, etc) in II using Abound points. With MVC weeks, you can still exchange for Abound properties in II, subject to the trading power limitations.

What I am questioning is MVCI wants to switch to points only. So I wonder if they are trying to phase out the weeks owners.
Additionally, my 3 bedroom at Lake Tahoe gets 5400 points YET it costs as much as 6800 points for a week in my season. So the "trade" for points seems unfair. I have written many times and never got a kind response.

The skimming is ridiculous. I believe they’re switching over to points similar to how Wyndham did to reduce people renting their weeks in order to have more control

Marriott will never reach a point of not having weeks owners. There are just too many and there is no way in the world they are ever going to exercise ROFR enough to buy out all the weeks owners.

The skim is built in to account for the breakages and unused nights that are created by allowing people to book any number of nights with any check-in day. With weeks those do not occur.
