I'm trying to book a week in March 2017 and there is virtually no availability for Mexico. Would it be that everything is already booked or have most places not released their availability yet? I'm a new SVO owner and haven't traded into II yet so I don't know the timing of everything. :wall:

Probably too soon - you need to put in an ongoing search (like wait listing) so that your request is already in the queue before the deposits come in.

That being said, Starwood has 100% control of what is deposited, and in general, they deposit off-season weeks.

I have found that it is best to start an ongoing request with II 18- 13 months in advance because there are a few stray early deposits. In general though many II resorts don't let you deposit more than 12 months in advance and many II members deposit only 6-8 months or less in advance. Maybe its because members can do a request first but my II confirmations are no where near as early as my RCI ones.

I already have a week booked that we can't use. So I'm trying to do an "E-Plus Retrade". Since I'm doing a "retrade" am I allowed to start a search?

PS - Glad I paid the $39 when I booked the original reservation so I could change it if necessary.

No ongoing searches with eplus. You will need to just keep checking. At this point for March 2017, I would check once a week. Starting in about February I would bump it up to twice a week. Around May I would probably start checking daily.
