Hi all, I am new to the board. I own a week at the Jockey Club in Las Vegas which was given to me by my mother a few years ago when she got sick before passing. I have used it many times over the 20+ years it has been in the family. The last few years I have exchanged it to vacation in Aruba. It has worked out well but the exchange company doesn't have many properties available. I have been thinking of joining Interval International to maybe try someplace new. I visited their website and a 5th grader could probably put something better together. I have also called to get information and they weren't exactly the most helpful people in the world. Is Interval International worth joining?

A second question, my mother's husband has two weeks in St. Thomas at Bluebeard's Castle in February and September. He has asked if I want to use the week for a vacation. I don't really want to visit St. Thomas but thought about exchanging it for somewhere I want to visit. Is that possible through Interval International?

Thanks!

Resorts Owned
WKORV, WKV, 2-SDO, 4-Kauai Beach Villas, Island Park Village (Yellowstone), Hyatt High Sierra, Dolphin's Cove (Anaheim)
Just a few thoughts:

- Las Vegas doesn't have real strong trading power, because Las Vegas has over 50 timeshares - more supply than demand .
- Interval is not going to be very helpful, unless you are a member, and then they will only be kinda helpful. Customer service is not their strong suite. If you asked them what you could trade for and they said that isn't knowable - they were telling the truth.
- You cannot deposit another owner's timeshare into an exchange company, and I would not advise taking possession of Bluebeard's Castle.

Thanks. I was hoping he would be able to deposit his St. Thomas week and get the certificate to let me use it somewhere. I guess I will just keep doing what I am doing with my Vegas week. I already traded it for Aruba for March of next year. I guess the St. Thomas week is worthless and he should look into giving it away?
