Til Monday night. Platinum members making an exchange get unit size upgrade for no charge.
I was waiting for daily deals thinking they would have started on Monday or Wednesday given past experience. I had some exchanges to make and was waiting see if there would be a certificate with exchange day. I decided to use this promotion and get the discount now.
This is cool. We just did an exchange to upgrade from a studio to a two bedroom. If you search primarily in instant exchange inventory it might be good to place some placeholder exchanges way out (and use Eplus) and get the free upgrades to be able to retrade later for what you might really want. Better for enrolled Marriott weeks with no exchange fee.

They have to offer these deals because they have downgraded our trading power drastically. They aren't moving the Nanea units for August because the only weeks that can get the 2 bedroom Nanea are Marriott owners with holiday week or highly desirable deposits. Only a few of us have holiday weeks because they get snarfed up at the 13-month mark. I was a week late this year with my snarfing for 2025 and will certainly suffer with poor trading power with my later June Willow Ridge that do not cover the 4th of July because it's on a Friday this year, and I missed all of the bulk bank.
Gone is our ability with our SBR 2 bedrooms to even match a Nanea 2 bedroom. I used to get 1 bedrooms with Sheraton one bedrooms at SDO and SBR. The generic trading power of those weeks have suffered tremendously.
II is hurting owners with this downgrade in trading power. I am curious to see who will get the weeks via ongoing search after Marriott preference is over with.

They have been sitting online for days. Have you been seeing them for days?
I am really just bitter that Sheraton used to have preference into these units, and the only Sheraton that can pull them is a 2 bedroom lockoff. I used to get these with 1 bedrooms through OGS.

Honestly not sure, I haven't really been looking for them. I can't see them with my Harbor Lake 1-bedroom for President's Day week (TDI 135), but the WR would be a TDI 150 and can see them.

Same as me, my 1BR Grand Chateau is TDI135 and can't see the 2BR Nanea's. I used to be able to get that with my Gold Plus Sheraton Desert Oasis 1BR, even the small side.

adding a third question (maybe I could have edited my previous post - not sure?)
3 - do we know how trade power works with e-plus - meaning, for e-plus is it based on my original deposit for the unit I am exchanging out of - or maybe only II know???

1 BR Grand Chateau can see most 1BR's in Hawaii, but the Sheraton Desert Oasis 1BRs can't. There was an April 2025 week I wanted at KAA, and only my 1BR Grand Chateau could see it. The studio could not and my SDO 1BRs could not either. So at the moment, that 1BR Grand Chateau is my best chance at Hawaii.

All based on original deposit, though some have reported thinking adding E Plus gives them less or more trade power. Almost impossible to confirm if there's truth in that.
1 - It should. You only pay the upgrade fee once. Now this is the first time they have done a promotion like this for free upgrades, so not 100% sure if it will look to charge later outside the promotional period. I suspect it won't.
2- Yes, you can retrade for any date through the EPlus expiration date. It can be before or after your current exchange.

Perhaps the what we can and can't see in exchange can be kept in the applicable threads where this was already being discussed to keep this thread about the current promotions?

Does the same normally apply to re-trades (upgrade costs already covered)?
I am looking at a FL location in October. The 14 day out e-plus might not be enough notice during hurricane season. I was thinking the more expensive re-trade option is available until about 48 hours prior to check-in.

Once you pay the upgrade fee, you don't need to pay it again. If you trade a studio to a 2BR, you can then retrade into other 2BR units for no additional upgrade fees.
On the flip side, if you paid an upgrade fee from a studio to a 1BR and add e-plus, then retrade for a studio, do they refund you the upgrade fee ? (sorry off topic from original thread)
