Has anyone been called by Resort Rentals who are seeking owners, (in my case Westin DW) for II to deposit bonus weeks with them for corporate rental? They seem aggressive and I am not familiar with their program. They say they are given incenties by Developer to have more new visitors to property to do sales presentations. Anyone with experience with this?

A few in S and VA, a single resort in NC, MD, PA, and UT, plus Jamaica and the Bahamas
common scam. you can't rent bonus weeks or anything else you obtain through rci or interval. They just want you to pay them up front.

I got a call yesterday from a lady who claimed to be from Interval International. I hung up before she finished her spiel, but it was the same scam about corporate rentals....

Yes, I get that call for both RCI and II. Total scam.

I'm familiar with it. It's called a scam. Basically, they're going to get you all excited at the prospect of renting out units that you do not even own to begin with. Then when they have you salivating at the idea of getting you $2500 per week for each week that you allegedly have, they tell you that you need to pay them a marketing (or some other) fee.

Then, once you pay them, guess what happens.

This scam has reared its ugly head again. I got a cold call yesterday from someone offering to buy my bonus weeks for "corporate rentals" at a rate of $1600/week if I pay $399/week upfront. They called me while I was in my vehicle, so I told them I couldn't talk and to call back today. I did research last night and found, of course, that I can't sell bonus weeks. I also found lots of people saying this was a scam and it absolutely sounded too good to be true. So when they called back, I told them I found that I couldn't sell bonus weeks. They tried to talk around that by saying "yes, you can't sell the accommodation certificates, but....." But I interrupted and said that I knew you can't sell bonus weeks, that I knew it was a scam and for them to never call me again. I yelled at the lady and hung up. I figure they won't call again. But yeah, they're back........

There are plenty of threads here on TUG of this scam, new and old. It has been going on for a long time. It isn't like it disappeared only to reappear again.
