On Tuesday I made a 13 month reservation using two units and locking off both. I indicated I wanted interval / owner deposit.
I then went to II and deposited a 1BR and Studio.

Today I logged into II and see the studio is canceled.
I check my vacation club and out of the 4 reservations this one is listed as owner occupy.

I return to II, redeposit the unit and make an exchange.
I call Marriott, explain the situation noting they have the unit listed as owner occupy and ask if this is why it was denied confirmation?
They claim no, it shows as eligible for deposit and say I need to discuss with II.

Marriott transfers me to II Marriott Desk who can see my exchange pending confirmation from Marriott
In the past, when I deposit in II it's less than a day that the u it says confirmed.

Has anyone had this experience - do I need to call Marriott again and have them change the classification to Owner Deposit II ?

In the past I have said owner occupy, changed my mind and deposited without a problem.

I have had it where it did seem excessively long to get deposited to II. I would keep calling MVC and II until it is all sorted.

I always book MVC as Occupy, even when I know I want to deposit it, on the basis that I don't need anyone's IT system "helping" me mess up my travel arrangements. There are already too many things that can go wrong already so I don't want to add MVC IT to the mix.

I deposited it Tuesday and it is showing “canceled” in my II account, not pending.
I redeposited it today and is now showing “pending”

Glad to hear that you also do owner occupy.
Marriott has confirmed it is eligible for deposit on the phone with me.
I just don’t want to lose the Exchange as it lines up with something else.
Ugh!

Since you have to make 13-month reservations on the phone, I don't think there is any other option than using "Occupy". The option to pik "Exchange-Owner Deposit" is only online. We made four 13-month reservations in April and I deposited them all in II without issue.

I've done it many times where I pick "Owner Deposit" and so far Marriott has not messed anything up. It works as intended. All Marriott's IT system is doing is making you a reservation. Now if you pick "Marriott Deposit", then it will get messed up but that would be on you.

Yes I believe you and all the others that report the same, its my personal preference. I can never get my head round the various options, but know what Occupy means without having to think about it.

Does "Owner Deposit" book the week you select and then deposit it to II for you?

I always say occupy and bank the weeks. Odd that II and/or Marriott is keeping one studio as owner occupy and denied the deposit. That is not the side I would occupy. Someone slipped up on Marriott's end.

Here is what it shows, occupy is a choice.
The first and second resie I deposited, the third and forth I am holding off as I am selling the unit.
Last two say pending as I did not deposit them.
It’s just a mystery

You book the week you want and you go online to II and deposit it yourself.

@dioxide45 @rickandcindy23 @Hindsite have all done it differently and it was worked for all of you.
25 years of ownership and this is the first error I have had in regards to a rejected deposit.
Because one week is enrolled and one is post 2010, I am VERY careful they end up in the correct accounts.
Hoping it is a one off.
Thanks for your expertise.

Perhaps you entered a wrong date or unit size for the one they rejected? Or it could just be a clerical error by MVC.

From an owner's perspective, it works the same as occupy. You make the reservation, get the confirmation email and then go to II and deposit it. As far as I know, the only difference between Owner Deposit and Occupy is administratively on the back end for MVC.

It's possible of course.
But all 4 Resies were 7/1/27 check ins!
And I copy and pasted the Resie number.

I will keep checking over the weekend and put results here.

What concerned me is I never got a " sorry we can't accept your deposit" email.
When I deposited I got the standard, here is your deposit number pending Marriott confirmation from II.
They never said it was cancelled.

Update:
At 8:30 am I received a confirmation email from II for my exchange.
When I checked the II website, the status has changed from “pending” to “confirmed”
My Vacation Club website still says owner occupy - I imagine I will see the change of status there on Monday.

I've never had this issue, but I do the same lock off and deposit every year for one or both of my properties. It always takes a couple or few days for me to get the email confirmation from II saying that it is deposited. My assumption is that they need to confirm the reservation number with MVC and that process is not automated or runs infrequently.

I've been notified by II several times that MVC declined a deposit, I think I'm up to 4 now. However, none of those times was the deposit ultimately cancelled.

The only deposit I've had that was actually canceled was an error on my end. I mixed up 2 reservations putting the check in date from one and the confirmation for another. I had already exchanged it and I was contacted by II who worked with MVC to change the deposit to the correct one. I was surprised they were so flexible and cooperative in that situation. It doesn't seem likely they would deny the deposit based on "owner occupy" from my past experiences and posts on TUG so if that was indeed the case, it'd be great info to have. I've actually discussed with MVC about the differences and told it wasn't a big deal but they would change the reservation number internally though you never know when a given answer by phone is completely accurate.

I also understand that if you have a pending request against an unconfirmed deposit, they wouldn't actually cancel the request or any match. They first work with you and the TS company to try and get the deposit confirmed. Updating any details that might have been entered incorrectly.

I haven't done this in a few years, but for my benefit and anyone else reading this...don't you reserve your week/s with Marriott and when you go to deposit don't you have to put in the Marriott confirmation number? I've always received the confirmation number by email immediately. I haven't done a 13 month thing for a long time, though. Only more recently on 12 month reservations.

Just a follow up, my unit status on MyVacationClub website has now been update to interval deposit and dated the second time I deposited it 6/8. The master suite deposit is 6/2, the original deposit date.
My conclusion is when I copied and pasted the Marriott reservation either a digit was left off or it was not the correct resie.
Here’s the updated status on MVCI website .
