Insufficient points message

I'm not sure if this is a Wyndham issue or RCI problem, but when I am searching on RCI, it is telling me I have insufficient points available to do an exchange for every exchange I look at. The main screen shows I have 134,000 points in RCI, but it tells me I don't have sufficient points for a 77,000 point exchange.

I've never seen this before and am wondering if anyone else is having this issue. It was working fine for me two days ago, and I haven't used any points in the interim.

Do your points expire before the vacation exchange you are seeking?

Nope. The expiration is showing as 9/3016, but it's giving me the message for every single unit, regardless of date or number of points. I just checked some January 2016 unites that are 63,000 points, and it still says insufficient points.

I would call them. They are having all sorts of problems. Today I spent well over an hour talking with them.

Apparently, they say they are aware of issues and their IT department is working on it. I made several recent deposits which should expire in 2 years or in 2017. The deposits show up with a 2016 expiration. They say this is happening to many people. My advice is to keep records of your deposits.

Another issue, I received a message to save points from expiring and pay $99 for a bunch of points that I've never seen or heard of before. Phantom points. I honestly don't know what is going on? Apparently, there was some update Dec 19 or 20th that made a mess of things.

Call them and hopefully they can help you and fix your account? I am very frustrated with RCI today.

Good luck!

Cynthia T. :)

SAME PROBLEM Have 250,000 Wyndham RCI Pts.

The website said I had a total of 250,000 points but it would only let me trade fo no more than l05,000. Found the mistake last night when I went to reserve a week.
This morning I talked to three people at RCI and finally got a supervisor that said it was their mistake which they would correct it . She held a week for me that was 126,000 points and said they were working on fixing this problem.
She also told me to phone and not try to confirm or reject hold on line. Waiting! SK

I just got the very same message "insufficient points". Which is impossible. I have too many points in RCI that I must figure out how to use by 2017.

Something is definitely wrong with RCI and their "update".

Why are there so many issues with RCI lately?

Today, for my account everything is working correctly.

There is no more "insufficient points" message.

The message to deposit expiring points and pay a $99 fee to extend points an additional year was removed. I didn't have any points deposits that would expire anyway. It was a glitch in the RCI system that is now fixed.

My Wyndham points deposits are in the correct expiring year Dec. 31, 2017.

Previously, any of my new deposits had a 12/31/2016 expiration date (incorrect) since you should get 2 years to use you Wyndham points deposits placed into RCI. Regardless of what the use year box says, it is important to confirm that RCI has it "right" in their system with the correct expiration date.

It really makes it confusing if the RCI website cannot be accurate and provides false information. I am glad that I only have points with a 2017 expiration date in RCI. I am glad that the RCI rep could verify and fix my account problem.

I strongly suggest to all to check your RCI account for accuracy against any records that you may have? If you see a problem call RCI to straighten it out before the NEW Year if possible?

Mine appears to be fixed as well. No more "insufficient points" message.
